Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my site. I'm glad you're here!

My name is Jeanette Chernich (pronounced "Cher-nick") and I've been photographing life since I was a young girl. A few years ago, I decided to pursue it as a business and I've really grown to love this hobby-turned passion!

I love the many connections (emotional as well as visual) that photography creates, and I consider it a tremendous gift to be able to use this medium as a means to give people something precious, a captured moment in time.

So where did the name "Purple Linen" come from anyway? From the time I was a little girl, I learned about the Proverbs 31 woman in the Bible. Over the years, I have admired (and even at times been exasperated by!) her character. She is a model for women everywhere- a person who exemplifies strength, dignity, compassion, tenacity, and resourcefulness. As a wife and mother, I am constantly challenged to have those qualities-and as a photographer, I am driven to craft this art form and use it to hopefully bless others! I chose the name "Purple Linen" because Proverbs talks about this woman being "clothed in purple and fine linen". I love those words together! They remind me to strive for excellence…to make beautiful, quality photographs that tell a joyful story. I'm finding that there is a lot of room to learn and grow-gaining knowledge through practice, books, and online courses, building confidence, making connections, exercising faith, and building friendships. It has been a great journey so far!

I'm a stay-at-home mom of three curious, spirited, adventurous children, and I'm married to my high school sweetheart. We live in the great state of Michigan and love to travel, bike, paint, get outdoors, listen to music, have movie marathons, play Legos, and spend lots of time with the people we love! I feel so lucky to be doing what I love and I look forward to what the future has in store!
